Recognising and following a link within text is simple, links are either:
When you see a link click on it to follow it to a new page.
There is a search box on the right of your screen. Type a word into the box; ie biodiversity. This will give you a list of pages that contain this word.
When you click on one of these pages you will notice that the word (or phrase) you were searching for is highlighted in yellow. This allows you to quickly scroll to the information you are seeking within that page.
Clicking on the “page name” in the top left of your screen takes you to pages that link to the page you are on.
The 'toolbox' at the bottom left of your screen also contains a 'backlinks' button which displays this same list.
Many pages within this site contain green “tags” in the bottom left of your screen. Tags are keywords assigned by the contributor who created the page. Clicking on these takes you to a list of all pages tagged with the same topic.
The 'tag cloud' is located in on the right hand side of your screen. It displays some of the most popular tags used on this site. Tags which are used on more pages appear larger in the tag cloud.
This site came about in order to replace the EDO's paper based publications with a free online resource accessible to everyone. The site is largely “text based” and we hope this assists speedy download of information even through slow connections. However if you don't have access to the internet or are having trouble please contact EDO and talk to one of our staff.
